Not posting this in "News" since it's an unconfirmed piece of information, but thought you might be interested in an article in the LostCousins newsletter.
"FamilySearch have at last admitted that some of the records included in the International Genealogical Index (IGI) at the old FamilySearch site are NOT included in the datasets at the new site. Whilst there are many new datasets at the new site, including some images, a recent email to LostCousins member .... revealed that some IGI records have not been included because of copyright issues.
In the circumstances my advice is to use both sites - each has a link to the other from its home page. You'll also benefit from the different search techniques."
It's not really news, just confirmation of what we already know, but if they are admitting it, perhaps they will be doing something about it.

Thanks Mary I have found that I can't always find things on the new site that I can on the old one. Least now I know it isn't me.

I recently took a number of Fenton events from Family Search. All were stated to be at Throapham church in South Yorkshire. One marriage was also listed at Ecclesfield Church about 12 miles away. Last week I went to Sheffield to check all the events I was interested in. Not one of my list of Fenton events took place at Throapham they were all at Ecclesfield!!!
Just as well I like to see the oriiginals!

My great grandfather Frederick Taylor Brassington married Caroline Hand, daughter of John Hand, September 1859 at Stoke on Trent. All later records tie in with this.
On the Family Search website, Frederick Taylor Brassington married Caroline Wand, daughter of John Wand, July 1859 at Derbyshire !!!
Coincidence or error ?

Total mistranscription of which we have seen many, I believe you would need to order the film and look at the letter for yourself and probably would be able to identify it as a H. Whether they will be as amenable to correcting errors as the subscription sites are, I have no idea, but worth a try.
