after watching episode 1

and seeing the size and weight of a sack of flour, I can now understand why my ancestor John Aldridge, a carter, died from a sack of flour falling upon him in 1890 aged 36!

as a carter he must have been a strong individual for his age to be lifting such things but to be hit from a great height - shocking!

still, it is a fascinating programme and made me realise we take bread for granted, that it will always be on the supermarket shelves!
