William Tomlinson killed in action

I am trying to find out a bit more about William Tomlinson b. 1892 in Liverpool. Private Service No:11397
Date of Death:13/07/1916 : South Lancashire Regiment 6th Bn. Remembered on the BASRA MEMORIAL
Son of William and Celia Tomlinson, of 19, Embledon St., Liverpool. No army papers come up on usual sites. I know sometimes the Echo would print a small piece about individuals, does anyone know if they printed a piece about all the soldiers? If so how long after his death is it likely to be printed? Then hopefully when I get back to Liverpool at some point I could look it up.
Thanks Linda

There are a lot of records, when you go to the library it's a good idea to take a flash drive with you rather than depending on print outs.

Thanks to you all, army records have supplied all the information which is great. His parents are down as next of kin, yet according to his papers he was married to Elizabeth Lowe? Something else to look up.
thanks again Linda

Hi Linda,
The marriage, Elizabeth Lowe/William Tomlinson is not your William, it appears the records of the 2 William's have been mixed up, the marriage of Elizabeth Lowe took place at Warrington in 1896, your William being born 1892, makes it not possible.

To add,
The soldier Elizabeth married was William Tomlinson, South Lancs, 12491, approx. 34 years old when enlisting.

Hi Linda,
Re
Son of William and Celia Tomlinson, of 19, Embledon St., Liverpool.
I don't think William was married when he was KIA. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission entry would have surely said so and named his wife.

It's not unusual for an online site to have the papers of two different soldiers mixed up, careful reading required.
