I have the above soldier in a Casualty list published 10th April 1915

King's Liverpool Regiment
O'Brien
1942
Alfred
Peter
Private Liverpool 12th March 1915
Died of wounds SEE BRIEN:
Husband of Catherine O'Brien (nee Willridge)

There is also the following report of his death in the Liverpool Courier

Liverpool Territorial's death-23rd March 1915 Liverpool Courier

News has been received of the death of Rifleman A. P. O'Brian of the 5th King's (Liverpool) Regiment. Writing to Private O'Brian's wife to express his own and ????

"It is with the deepest regret that I heard of the death of your husband in the hospital. He was wounded in the trench we were holding on the 10th Inst while doing his duty for King and country and behaved in the noblest possible manner. Cant decipher the rest as its tightly bound"

He is recorded on CWGC as A. Brien

http://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/casua ... BRIEN,%20A

The Grave Registration Document records him as A. O'Brien

Medal Card also records him as Alfred Brien

and his SDGW entry records him as Alfred O'Brian

He married Catherine Willridge in 1908 at St. Mary's Walton. (I can get a copy of this)

I have located him on the 1911 Census in Anfield as Alfred Peter OBrien

Name: Alfred Peter Obrien

I think I have him on the 1901 as Alfred O'Brien (Marriage will confirm this)

1901
Piece: 3487
Folio: 132
Page Number: 22

1891 Census

Piece: 2990
Folio: 26

He is recorded in Liverpool Town Hall as A.P. O'Brien.

In order to get his entry corrected on CWGC I need 3 articles of proof Baptism/Marriage/Census/Probate/Death registration fiche (this also records him as Alfred Brien)

I cannot locate a birth registration for him. The Census states he was born in Liverpool.

Any help.

Just a update on this serviceman

St. Mary's , Walton on the Hill

26th December 1908

Alfred Peter O'Brien-22yrs-Batchelor-Joiner-21, Railway Road, Walton-Peter O'Brien(Deceased) Joiner

Catherine Willdridge-20yrs-Spinster-13, Railway Road, Walton-Frederick Willdridge-Joiner

Witnesses: John James Steele and Elizabeth Parker.

This confirms the Baptism at St. Anne, Overbury Street is correct. Thanks DS and Bertie

I don't know how to address this one. I can get his surname corrected, but his Forename???

I'll run it by TerryD IFTC and see what he thinks.
