iGoogle and its impending demise in November 2013

Anyone out there currently using iGoogle as their personalised Home Page? Concerned about replacing it before it is shut down in November 2013, line with Google's current plans?
I have a friend in the US who is rapidly becoming a nervous wreck thinking about losing beloved iGoogle. I don't use iGoogle but have suggested NetVibes as a possible replacement from a number 'on offer'. http://www.netvibes.com/en
