Edward Molyneux Cohan, 5 August 1914

Post by daggers »

An officer in the Territorial Force, he was at annual camp with his Artillery brigade on Salisbury Plain when war was declared. They were ordered to return to their home bases for mobilisation and on the following day in the confusion of many units trying to reach the railway he was thrown from his horse and died from head injuries.
Edward's brother Henry also served in the Royal Artillery and died in Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) in 1919, from heart failure, shortly before returning for demobilisation.
