I have just found Timothy Healey's baptism at All Souls 1891 and the Godmother is Catherine Learn.

Got all excited about that one way back but tracked them and eliminated them. There are a couple of Baptisms at St Vincent de Paul for a Charles Lorn and Nicholas Lorn sons of Charles and Ann Lorne (Nee Moore) Charles date of birth is given as 13th February 1881. I haven't been able to find anything on this lot apart from the Baptisms.

I tell you there is is something shady with my Charles Henry Laugharne

Hi Simone,

If Emily and Catherine have the same father, re marriages, there should be a death for a George Lorne between 1881 and 1886, but can't find one. :(

no can't see it either Bert :?

The 1871 census mentioned earlier is a puzzlement isn't it :?

RG10; Piece: 3827; Folio: 9; Page: 11
Joshua Campbell 65 paper hanger
Catherine Edwards 36 widow
George Edwards 17 grandson paperhanger
Alice Edwards 13 granddaughter
Charles Campbell 10 grandson
Catherine Lane 4 granddaughter
Fanny Lams 1 granddaughter

Catherine is a widow, but has 2 Larne children with her, so she can't have married Mr Larne then :?:
Are the Larne children really hers then or is she just looking after them with her dad :?:  And who is Charles Campbell, surely can't be hers because he was born after she married Mr Edwards... and too old to Charles Larne

Simone, I look at any spelling that's similar to Lorne. There has to be a logical explanation why Charles is eluding us prior to 1901. Also there is no marriage of Catherine Edwards (nee Campbell) to a George Laugharne. My gut instinct is to take the plunge and apply for that Birth Registration for Charles Henry Laugharne in 1874 and not put a father down as I think he was illigitimate.

If you look at the birth registrations for these children of Catherine E Edwards (nee Campbell)

Births Mar 1867
Laugharne Catherine W. Derby 8b 350
Laugharne Susan W. Derby 8b 350 Died March qtr 1871 4years old

Births Jun 1870

Births Jun 1874
Laugharne Charles Henry W. Derby 8b 361

I think Emily was born in Ireland if that is her on the 1901 Census up in Toxteth.

Too much of a coincidence for my Charles Henry Lornes birth and this Charles Henry Laugharne born 1874.

Yes Gray we have that. The only thing that concerns me is Charles Lorne aged 17 years in 1891, is also on the 1901 Census with his mum. My Charles Lorne is in Comus Street living as a married man with Mary Fagan. I suppose stranger things have happened and there was some trouble about him taking up with a Catholic.

The names do go through the family Simone fingers crossed the certificate will give the answer. Thank you all who have helped.

Still waiting for the Postman with this Certificate no sign yet. I gave my dad a grilling, and he said a Ann Crosby married a Healey and they lived in Gerrard Gardens. the Crosby family are connected to the Fagan side of the tree, too complicated to go through at the moment (there was a court case) I have not been able to locate a marriage of a Crosby getting married to a Healey. I want my Charles Henry Laugharne certificate now!!! been holding off on this for 13 years and they take ages to deliver the certificate.
