Not really Del! Just too many James Crosbies who were in the MN. Sometimes these tangled webs take some untangling. I believe we have already accounted for the 1906 death of JC the tailor, and know who he was.Del wrote:With all the info i am getting,i am beginning to think,James is a bit of a,enigma!

If you are descended from one of the children of Mary Crosby/McDonald I think your JC was probably the older one [a seaman, which fits the family lore], who was already married hence couldn't marry Mary. And because he died at sea [and probably buried at sea] his death will not be in the GRO Death Index.

In Anc there is a tree, not much info, they have Mary Elizabeth McDonald died in 1913 aged 43yrs.
Young Thomas died 1911 aged 12 yrs. No info for James snr.
James jr dying in Huyton in 1968 having married Bridget Nixon.
Elizabeth marr Wm Pagan at St Phillips 1920 and died in 1960
William married Elizabeth on the 8th Feb 1914,not 1920.
