Has anyone heard of this?

Prescot, and Huyton and Merry Childo, (Childwall)
Three Parish Churches all in a row,
Prescot for Poverty, Huyton for Pride,
And Childo for ringing and singing beside.

This was supposed to have been penned by a Bell Ringer of Childwall Parish Church whose surname was Taylor. It was amongst the Family Memories of one Rodney Tirebuck Taylor, who claims in his Family tales that one of his ancestors was Bell Ringer at All Saints, Childwall and he was a marvelous singer and
a Poet.

All three churches would have been in a Row and you would have been able to see the Steeple of St. Mary's Prescot, St. Michaels, Huyton and then the third one in the row would have been Childwall.

In one of his tales he did say on Ancestor got carried of by natives and he was never seen again

The same rhyme, with minor variations in spelling, is included in "This our Heritage", by E.F. Mellor, a booklet first published about Childwall Parish Church in 1958 and reissued in updated form in 1986. The author does not give any origin for the rhyme but gives more than a page to the history of the bells.

I have passed on the Website details to Mr. Taylor from America whose Ancestor was Landlady of Childwall Abbey Hotel in the 1840's. He also has a Ancestor William E Tirebuck who was a well known Liverpool Poet, Writer. Also according to family tales one of his Ancestors a Marble Mason was responsible for 2 Columns that stood on Lime Street and they were know locally as Candlesticks. These Columns were removed and placed in Sefton Park, don't know if they are still there, but that's another tour when he pays a visit.
