The William who is also there is recorded as being 0 months Do you think this could be him & they have got the age wrong?
He was living in 85 Bold St St Helens on the latest census & according to the electoral rolls he & the family were there until the spring 1922 book. The Autumn one just shows His son Wm Harrison Jnr. I cant find any other William Harrison being born in 1922 ish unless it was a still born & not registered! But if it was a stillborn would he be put in his own grave & the rest of the family put in later?. Mind you I cant find a birth for William Harrison abt 1866 either!!
Has anybody any thoughts on this?
Thanks

Hello Linda,
Regarding William's birth...
In the census he says he was born in St Helens so the registration would probably have been under the Prescot Registry Office. A search for births in 1866 +/- 1 year gave 7 hits. I assume you have his father's name from his marriage cert and perhaps his mother's name? Armed with those details you can get the GRO at Southport to search 1866 and one year each side. If you apply don't enter anything initially other the year you are interested in, 1866. Don't enter a district, volume or page number. A page will open where you can enter parents' names. If the GRO can't find a match for the one you are looking for they will refund the fee.

You mentioned the Electoral Roll for 1922 which gives his son William as the voter/head of household. That indicates to me that, unless William senior was living elsewhere [hardly likely?], he had died. The ERs are prepared the previous year, usually in October, so the 1922 one was compiled in 1921.

Between 1911 and 1921 there is only one death registered in Prescot:
Death: HARRISON, William
Registration district: Prescot, Lancashire
Year of registration: 1917; Dec qtr
Age at death: 49
Volume no: 8B; Page no: 784

If you have tried that death already it looks as though William was living somewhere else and died later.

Why not contact St Helens Cemetry Office it's at the Crematorium and ask them the age of William Harrison? You could also ask if their is a gravestone as it might be worth seeing the stone to see if it has further details.

DS. Yes I've got his & his parents Marriage Cert. We thought it was our William who had died in 1917 until I found him in the ER,s till spring 1921. His father Thomas was buried in a paupers grave. A cousin of mine has been doing loads on this tree & I think she checked with the crem office abt the William who was 0 months. They gave her the address of Bold st so we knew it was one of ours. I'll check the birth one out. It's weird we can't find any other ones that match.

Tina. Yes it's very sad that 7 of their children died.

There is no gravestone for the plot :(

Thanks for trying
