In 1851 I think this is your Mary

23 Penrith St Toxteth Park
John Hazlewood 46 coachman is living with his wife Ellenor aged 38 born in Ireland. Their are a number of children the oldest being Ellenor born Liverpool in about 1840. Also in the house is Mary Turbour stepdaughter aged 19 born Liverpool. It looks very like Tuirbour but could read as Furbour.

After a lot of ferreting and looking at alterations to some Hazlewoods I found

1841 Temple Buildings Liverpoo
John Azlewood 35 coachman not born in the county with Eleanor born Ireland aged 30 amd Mary 10 and Eleanor 1. Mary is listed as Azlewood. Both children born in the county.

I then found the baptism for a son Alfred in 1842 listed as Aizlewood.

These findings led me to a marriage on 21 May 1837 at St peter Liverpool between John Azlewood and Elelen Feubern widow. Both sign their names he as Azlewood and her signature looks very like Feubeur. As she was born in Ireland and it's an unusual name maybe the Vicar couldn't spell it correctly! The marriage is on Ancestry.

If you think this is the right family you now need to find a marriage between a William and an Eleanor with Furbour spelt in some shape or form!!!!!

Food calls!

PS the marriage is indexed on Ancestrt as Ellen Freeborn and John Azlewood

I hope this is of help :)
1871 57 Combermere St Tockie Park
George Steel plasterer 39 bn Lancs
Mary wife 40 bn Lpool
Mary J 16, John 18 plasterer, George 14 grocer's , Elizabeth 12
Ann 10, Martha 5, ...3, Margaret 1 all bn Lpool.
The children and mother's listing was jumbled all over the place.
1861 census, I think George was born in Ulverston, what do you think?

Hi
Thanks for the replies, have just logged in as had a busy weekend.
Hilary - i am looking for anything that relates to this name.
Bert thank you for your efforts, much appreciated.
Tina - This looks like the right family, but still trying to find where Mary originated, or her life pre marriage to George Steel.

Have a few days off now so will be able to collect the marriage certificate and look a little bit more in detail.

Re your response to me

I thought you must be looking for anything to do with them so posted 1841 census, 1851 census and her mother's second marriage. Was it not useful?

The census shows she was born in Liverpool mother Ellen/Eleanor and Bert found parents' names William marrying Ellen Carroll. However she is born pre civil registration in 1837 so you are dependent on finding a baptism which will be difficult because of the various spellings of her surname.
