Can anyone help with a query about an address in Southport in 1895? From a probate record, a relative died at AMROTH VILLA, but she was not there in 1891 and her widower was not there in 1911. No road is given, according to what I have been told. ADDED: The villa was in Churchtown.

Cambridge Road may be another clue to the location of Amroath Villa in 1895.

I think it will be this one
134 Cambridge Road Ambroth Villa
This was 4 houses after Denmark Road and Manor Road in the 1900/01 directory. At that time occupied by George Thornborough.
It wasn't there in the 1892 directory.
In the 1910.11 directory it is
134 Cambridge Road Amroth Villa Mrs Franklin
I have to put the car away so I'll nip up to Churchtown and take a look.

Well I popped up to Churchtown and outside the very house I wanted was a large United Utilities tanker and van obviously sorting out a drain so I couldn't check the gate post for the name!
The houses are semis probably were built as 4 bedroomed places. Their numbering has changed since the directory entries I gave earlier. I'll try again later in the week.
In 1901 Edith, Harold G and Eric Ball Thornborough are in residence. They are the children of George and Fanny Maria Thornborough.
