Hi!
Please can anybody find Arthur Walters in the 1901 census, he was later known as William Arthur Walters.
I have him in 1891 living at 109 Park Street, Toxteth
RG12
Folio 113
Piece 2928
and in 1911 living at 4 Morton Street, Toxteth
RG14
Piece 22230
but no sign in 1901.
William Arthur Walters married my grandmother in 1922 and I am suspicious that he might have been the father of some of her illegitimate children.
Grateful for any help.
Heli.

Thanks Bert,
That's very helpful. However, I will need to shelve my suspicions about William Arthur Walters now.
Cheers!

Although transcribed as Walton on my 1901, on the actual summary page his surname looks very like Arthur W Walford or Watford.
Re:
There are 7 Gardner nee Gardner births in Liverpool between Sep qtr 1911 and Sep qtr 1917, but none after that. I would assume that the father will not be named on any of them, but the only way to be sure is to check the actual birth cert. There are no Walters nee Gardner births in that time frame in Lancashire.William Arthur Walters married my grandmother in 1922 and I am suspicious that he might have been the father of some of her illegitimate children.
Grateful for any help.

Hi DS,
At first glance at the summary page I thought it was Wablorb, looking at the enumerators handwriting on the page, I think its Walters and his occupation matches other census years.

Hi!
Thanks to Bert and DS for your interest. It would appear that the transcribers had problems reading the enumerators writing. Using the reference given by Bert, I found the transcription as Arthur W Walton, Wright Adjuster on another site.
I did post a query regarding my Grandmother and her children back in 2009, but with no luck. I think that because the children were illegitimate and the father is shown as a marine fireman it is going to be more or less impossible for me to find out who my Grandfather was. I was hoping to find that Arthur Walters was at sea in 1901.
