Hi

Welcome to the forum. A lot of the people who died in Liverpool Workhouse died there because it was a place to get medical treatment rather than because of poverty. Liverpool Record Office have records for Liverpool Workhouse which should tell you when they went there. Do you already have the death certificate?

Hi and welcome to the forum. Without a death certificate, or burial and a definite date to search the discharges it may take quite a while to find your entry.

If you haven't been to the Record Office before, the Society hosts a Help Desk on Tuesday afternoons between 1.30 and 4.00 pm and somebody will be able to show you the ropes.

You probably have a burial record then with the address given as Liverpool Workhouse. The Death Certificate will tell you how they died and sometimes how long the person has had the illness. Here is the GRO link for certificates:-

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

My McGuinness/McGinnis etc people were from County Cavan. Bridget was married to Michael Brady and there's a Michael McGuinness probably her brother. Raymond Street was one of their addresses.
