Hi all.
I'm hoping someone can help me with what appears to be the complete disappearance of Nancy Shacklady. Nancy was born in 1863 in Liverpool. I have her birth record and have found her on the 1871 and 1881 census, but can't find any trace of her after this date. Her parents were Joseph Shacklady and Mary Woods.
I hope someone can help me track her down after 1881.
Many thanks.
The mystery of Nancy Shacklady
Re: The mystery of Nancy Shacklady
Is it possible she married ? She would have been old enough by, and after, 1881 ?
Cant find a marriage locally though ?
Was she born and christened as 'Nancy' ? I say that because my G/Mother was born Martha but all documentation other than Marriage and Death was in the name of Annie
the following might be of interest for the same time period :
Nancy (female)
Synonym(s): Agnes (F)
Diminutive(s): Nan (F)
Pet Name for: Ann (F)
NANCY f English
Previously a medieval diminutive of ANNIS, though since the 18th century it has been a diminutive of ANNE
ANNIS - Gender: Feminine
Pronounced: AN-is [key]
Medieval English form of AGNES
Also Anna, Hannah, Annie etc.
