Sorry I made a mistake when I put the information in. It John who is the father. John Joseph also had a sister called Margaret who left her husband Georger McKinley and three daughters in 1918 if any one has any information on her after this date I would be grateful.

Do you have the documentary evidence that he was in prison in 1903 and if so where was he being held? What is the source of the specific year 1918? And can you confirm that this is Margaret's deserted husband?

Margaret was born 23/03/1890 in West Derby and married George McKinley 7/11/1909. It is just family story that she ran off with a soldier but her daughters confirmed she disappeared when they were children. At one time they lived over a shop in Old Swan.
As for John being in prison, his army papers say he was discharged in 1903 after serving a 3 month sentence given by the civil court. He was signed off as a bad character.
