The above soldier appears in a list published October 1916 as

Royal Army Medical Corps-Chetter, 41632 J (Warrington) Died of wounds

On CWGC he is recorded under his birth name of William Edward Chetter.

The National Archives Dicovery Catalogue records him as James Chetter

I have tried to locate his Medal card with out any luck on Ancestry.

I just need to check is he James or John Chetter on his MIC

So frustrating Mary. he is on Discovery, so he does have a medal card, they have mst probably missed out when they have been going through updating their records Grrrr.

What gets me is all this publicity that is now getting put out about these men who lost their lives in WW1 and the information that is on line is inaccurate etc etc.

Why were they not interested 4 years ago etc.

And the Medal cards on Ancestry are what is on the National Archives and I know about their errors (And they are soldier's called John recorded as Jonathan) not to mention the number errors. Don't get me started with all these errors regarding these soldiers. Grrrr

I think it has to be William Edward. The 1911 census shows the family at 42 Pierpoint Street, Warrington, father is John, 39 a boot repairer, born Oakengates, Shropshire, Wife Mary Ann 33 and children William Edward 14, a wire worker and daughter Rose Annie, 8, all born Warrington. Mary Ann's details give married 15 years, with two children, both living and none died.
