Hi there! I am having trouble finding birth records (any records actually) for my GGG Grandfather John Simeon. I do have his marriage information to Jane Bell in 1803 and records for the birth of his children Margaret, John , Grace and Peter (GG Grandfather) but nothing else. There are no census records that I can find online and the witnesses to his marriage are the same witnesses for all marriages in the record book. I am in Canada and unable to travel to Liverpool. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
Cathy D

Thank you Bert. That was my cousin George searching back in 2011. I guess I was hoping for some new information to make it's way to the forefront but I guess I am still out of luck.
I am not going to give up though.
Cheers,
Cathy

There's an earlier thread on Rootschat http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=681190.9 which mentions the alternative spelling Simmons and a possible death in 1840.

Thanks! That was me inquiring a year ago. Unfortunately, nothing from that information panned out.
I'm still stuck.

There was another daughter Ann Simeon baptised in 1804 who is listed on the previous thread.
An Ann Simeon married John Wainwright, cordwainer, at St Nicholas on 28 September 1828. Transcribed on Ancestry as Simcox.

I just added Wainwright to the tree actually. No mention of parents on the documentation that I have seen though. I will follow the Simcox lead for sure.
Thanks!
Thanks!

As at some point John Simeon was a custom officer I would suggest you need to investigate any records for that. Googling "records of customs officer" produces a link to the National Archives at Kew. These records are not on line as far as I can see and you would need to employ a researcher to look at them but if they include your John Simeon it could well be worth the researcher's fee.

It definitely looks that way. If I am going to find out anything else about him I am going to have employ someone to do some digging. One day I'll make it to Liverpool myself but that is a few years away.
Cheers everyone!
