Great Gran's house,

Post by marilib13 »

Can you tell me how to find out who lived in my Great Grans house. Family lived at 54 Jonville Road, Liverpool. I've been down to see the house, it's a lovely kept street. I would like to know how long my family lived there and how to find out a follow-up address. Please excuse the large print, my computer is only a few months old. Thanks for any info. you may be able to glean from your site.

Nothing came to light in the telephone books, you need to search the Electoral Rolls.

To: Bertieone.

That was quick work. Now, if you could tell me how to access this Directory, I might get on a bit further and leave you in peace. Thanks once again.

There are a number of directories held by our members, Bert has one for that year.

Perhaps you could tell us what years you think your family was living there and what their name was?

But Bert's suggestion of Electoral Registers may be the best as they are searchable by Street name, they are held at the Record Office, as also are Street Directories that come forward quite a number of years.

Could someone tell me how to access the Electoral Register for Jonville Road, please? I'm hoping someone can tell me when these houses were built? Also, what was there before the houses? Thanking you in anticipation. Marie McIntosh.

Hi

You access the electoral rolls at Liverpool Record Office on microfiche. Here are some map links showing the location.

Early map showing the land as fields, c1850

Later map showing the land around the time it was built on, c1894
