Jersey and the Channel Islands Research
The day after VE Day, 9 May 1945, the Channel Islands were liberated by the British, ending 5 years of German occupation. Jersey Archive http://catalogue.jerseyheritage.org/ has recently uploaded images of over 30,000 occupation registration cards from World War 2, a fascinating new digital archive. For help with family history research in the Channel Islands, contact the Channel Islands Family History Society http://www.jerseyfamilyhistory.org/ and La Societe Guernesiaise (FHS). http://www.societe.org.gg/sections/familyhistory.php

Re: Jersey and the Channel Islands Research
Two new collections have been added to Ancestry. The Jersey, Channel Islands, Wills and Testaments collection covering the years 1663-1948 and The Jersey, Channel Islands, Occupation Registration Cards from World War Two covering the years 1940-1945. Both these collections will be of enormous benefit to anyone who is eager to learn more about their Jersey family history. Some of the most common surnames found in these collections include, De Gruchy, Renouf, Hamon, Amy, Bisson, Querée, Le Brocq, Le Marquand, Le Cornu, and De La Haye.

Re: Jersey and Channel Islands Research
The Federation's newsletter gives good information for researching the Channel Isles, including dates of civil registration etc.
