The 1938 Directory - was it businesses ? The address on his birth certificate is definitely 161 Mill Street and his mother was a home maker

Oh this family is driving me crazy - lol

Hi Sue,

The Directory is Business and Residents, the residents occupations are also given. Perhaps 161 was incorporated with 159 and was a flat above, for example. 163 may have been 165 also.

The Electoral rolls may reveal something.

Ah yes that is possible -- I wonder if Thomas Knibb adopted his partner's name of Owen as I notice a Thomas Owen at 157 ?? The plot thickens !!
