Childrens home

Post by gf27 »

Some help please.
Some of my old relative's, just discovered, Annie Fletcher, Helena Fletcher and lily Fletcher were placed in care at the Preocutive Home, 9 Aigburth Road, Liverpool, not too sure about the spellings. They were sent there after their mother Annie had died, age just 27.
Can anyone tell me about this home? Lily I am told left England for Australia around the 1920s.
Always grateful for any information.
Gareth

Many thanks to Bert and Blue.
Job well done. As sometimes happens one of the replies begs another question.
On the passenger list that shows L Fletcher on board, is there also a record for a William John LANE? Sorry for dragging this one on.

Thanks. Gareth.

There was a few William J Lane's who travelled around that time period, none with Miss L Fletcher on the Osterley.

Thanks for that Bert.
It was a long shot I know, but I have Lily and William marrying 16 May in Perth Australia. So they probably met out there. William John Lane was supposedly born in London UK circa 1900 but I could not find him on the records, so he could have been an Australian ???

Thanks. Gareth.

The above census information is likely to be a William John Lane who stayed and married in England.
