Thomas Jones optician

I am looking to make the connection of my 3X Great Grandmother from Liverpool, Elizabeth, whos father was Thomas Jones optician b.1795+-d.bef1830+-Liverpool, to the Thomas Jones optician detail below. All the dates line up but Elizabeth his daughter's birth date I have not found, Babtised 6 Jan 1819. I have not found his date of death.

I think he may also be an instrument maker of note (hope to confirm) as I found one working 1816-1830' , 4 Harrington st. Liverpool. As many opticians were instrument makers and dates are right, possible.

By family record my Elizabeth was b. July 4, 1818 Liverpool. She married Johnson thought in Liverpool, a ships captain, daughter Harriet O. Johnson b.1839or40 loc?., and ended up in New Orleans where they may have lived until his death. She then married my 3X Great Grandfather in N.O. 1842. I understand this information is a little thin but I am hopeful.

It will be a great gift to my family to confirm the connection. Any effort or direction will be greatly appreciated. My thanks for the consideration of this message.

Directory of British Scientific Instrument Makers 1550-1851 Lists both a Thomas Jones of Liverpool and a Thomas Jones of London. Though I have found this stated by a credible source National Museum of History I have not had access to the information as the books are few and far in the States.

39. THOMAS JONES, F.R.G.S., M.Inst.C.E., F.R.S.
(1775-1852).
Thomas Jones, the optician, was born on 24th
June, 1775. In 1789 he entered the establishment of
Jesse Ramsden (1735-1800), optician, in Piccadilly,
London. Subsequently he carried on business on his
own account, first at 21 Oxenden Street, afterwards in
Rupert Street, and at 32 Charing Cross Road. He soon
attained a high reputation for his skill in constructing
astronomical instruments of the larger class, many of
which he was commissioned to supply for the principal
observatories of Great Britain and the colonies (see a
list of the most important in Monthly Notices, xiii,
112). He assisted, in conjunction with Dr. George
Pearson, Edward Troughton, Captain W. H. Smyth,
and others, in the formation of the Astronomical
Society in 1820. On 4th June, 1835, he was elected a
Fellow of the Royal Society. He died on 29th July,
1852.

What is this family record? do you perhaps have a bible? That date would not be too far out obviously to match with the baptism at St. Nicholas.

She married Johnson thought in Liverpool, a ships captain,

Information passed down in family. Johnson is a Surname. Have yet to find New Orleans marriage certificate. Family information, from the grand-daughter of the individual whose family cared for her late in life. Earlier accounts from State histories and religious records refer to my 3x G-grandfather Rev. W.H. Watkins marriage to Elizabeth Jones Johnson prior married to Johnson a ships captain.

Rev. William H. Watkins was born in Jefferson Co. Mississippi in 1815, was educated for the ministry (Methodist), and for a number of years was president of Centenary college at Jackson La. a Methodist Institution, and was afterward in the New Orleans conference. While in that city he met and married Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson, nee Jones, who was a native of Liverpool, England, born in 1818, where she had married her first husband, who was a ship captain.
