I found a entry today for my Great grandfather who was in the Boy's Refuge 62, St. Anne Street in 1891. He was sent there for not going to school. Now it states that his father John (Joseph) McCormick is a fireman on board the S S "Jane Bacon", Nelson Dock, L'Pool. Plies between L'pool and London. Lives on the vessel and has no fixed residence ashore.
Mother Dead
Aunt Mrs. Cassidy 14 Crt 6th House, Saltney Street.
Now Joseph McCormick, son of Felix McCormick married Isabella Cassidy in 1872 and their son Joseph was born in 1878. I have never been able to find Joseph McCormick my Great great grandfather on a Census with Isabella who died 1883, nor on later census which would confirm his place of birth as Liverpool. This is the first time I have located a mention of him other than on his marriage certificate and the birth and baptisms of the children. I am trying to find the ship number for the "Jane Bacon" in order to track down the Crew Lists. I looked in Lloyd's Register 1891-1893 no luck. Any one help.

Re: S.S "Jane Bacon"
I thought it might have helped to find "Mrs Cassidy" in 1891 but unfortunately at that address was
Honorah McGrath, Ann Keagan, John McKenna, James and Catherine Lyons.

Do these names mean anything?

Re: S.S "Jane Bacon"
There is a tree on Ancestry for this family which may be helpful as they have a baptism for William Joseph's eldest brother at St Anthony in 1833.
