Lance Corporal Thomas ( Tom ) Benion died c 9th Aug 1915 aged 26. Dardenelles.
6th South Lancashire Infantry. Missing Presumed Dead, Gallipoli


6th (Service) Battalion:

Formed at Warrington in August 1914 as part of K1 and moved to Tidworth, attached to 38th Brigade, 13th (Western) Division.Moved to billets in Winchester in January 1915 before going next month to Blackdown. Sailed from Avonmouth in June 1915. Landed at Helles (Gallipoli) 7-31 July then moved to Mudros. Landed at Anzac Beach 4 August 1915

Michael Finn husband of Sarah.
Killed in action 7th June 1917. Aged 31 years. Buried in Flanders. Cheshire Regiment No. 28730. The grandad I never knew.

In Loving Memory of my great-granddad, Arthur Robert Moore, died 5th October 1917 at the Battle of Passchendaele, Ypres, Belgium.

Buried: Ypres Reservoir Cemetery. Remembered with honour.

When my great-granddad died he left a wife and four children. My granddad, Arthur Robert Moore, born 13th December 1916 never knew his dad.

In memory of my Grandfather
Richard Atkinson Banks of 2nd Battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers.
Died of his wounds on 9th September 1915 age 37.
Buried in Fouquieres-le-Bethune Churchyard.
Left a wife and seven children

Also remembering my great uncle William James Fletcher, a fireman onboard S.S.War Firth, Mercantile Marine. Died 4th September 1918 age 43.

In memory of my Gt Uncle Samuel Owen who was killed on the 7th June 1917 at The Battle of Messines. He was a corporal in the Royal Welch Fusiliers 9th Battalion.
His war grave is at Croonaert Chapel Cemetery near Ypres. A small beautifully peaceful cemetery in the middle of nowhere.

JOHN FOSTER My dads brother a fireman in Liverpool died 1941 while attending a fire in the Docks he left a widow and 5 children so many fireman gave thier lives
