Help to find Francis McKenna Please

Hi
Eileen was kind enough to looked up the marriage of James McKenna in 1845 for me now I have dads name and can I find him No

So here I am back again asking for help, all I now is that his name was

Francis McKenna, he was a labourer still alive in 1845 when son married
his son James was born in Liverpool abt 1822
and I think Francis wife could be named Catherine
the address on the wedding certificate for James was Fountenoy Street.

I am sorry that is all I have, I know its not a lot to go on but if you can help or have any idea's what to do next, I would apprecite it

I will look, but please bear in mind that there is no guarantee that James father was living at the date of his marriage. We have often found that the question may not have been asked and so the information that the father was "deceased" was not noted.

This is not proof of having the right person but you might want to think about this entry.

Looking for a John Colley, I found one in Liverpool in 1841 aged 12 who was a sailor boy, living with a Betty Colley same age in New Brick Street. This boy seemed unlikely to me to be one of the witnesses at the marriage.

The only other entry in Liverpool is

If you check www.maps.google.co.uk you will still be able to see Fontenoy Street, off Great Crosshall Street and parallel to Byrom Street and Adlington Road, although not named, is off Fontenoy Street. Continuing south across Great Crosshall Street and and little way along Dale Street you come to Preston Street running through to Victoria Street.

The vicinity of these roads are extremely close, might be worth keeping in mind.

In 1851 we have
Fleming Court, Fontenoy Street, Dale Street, Liverpool
John Colley Head M 37 Whitesmith Journeyman
Elizabeth Wife M 31 At home
and children ranging between 8 and 3 months
and lodgers William Calens and Thomas Jenkison?

although if I have the righ McKenna family they seem to have moved a little away, although not far,
3 Court 1, Eaton Street/Vauxhall Road, Howard Street, Liverpool
The Hughes family and lodging with them are
James McKenna M 29 Common Labourer
Eliza M 28
James son 2
Catherine daur 5 months
HO107; Piece: 2178; Folio: 453; Page: 14

Does anybody else think this could be the right families?

Yes that is Francis son James with his wife and children, they are in Eaton street in 1861 and 1871 he was a boiler maker then, but James ends up in the work house in 1881 and 1891

I have just found a Marriage on IGI for a Francis McKenna and Catharine Bleakley in 1 July 1821 and guess What ? the church was StPaul's Saint Pauls Square, the same church as Francis son James in 1845 ( who son James was also married in 1870 )
What do you think could it be the Francis I am looking for

That seems very likely in view of the naming pattern of his child. Hadn't expected them to be married in Liverpool, I had thought Ireland.

Can you tell me, would Francis father name be on the parish records in 1821, and if so would I have to start a new topic to ask for a marriage look up

It's very unlikely for the father's name to be on a record of that date, I've never come across it and it wasn't required until 1837. The most you will get is probably whether they lived in the parish the marriage took place or a different one, whether they were single or widowed and hopefully their occupation.

No harm in asking for a look up though, every clue is valuable isn't it?
