Looking for a John Colley, I found one in Liverpool in 1841 aged 12 who was a sailor boy, living with a Betty Colley same age in New Brick Street. This boy seemed unlikely to me to be one of the witnesses at the marriage.
The only other entry in Liverpool is

If you check
www.maps.google.co.uk you will still be able to see Fontenoy Street, off Great Crosshall Street and parallel to Byrom Street and Adlington Road, although not named, is off Fontenoy Street. Continuing south across Great Crosshall Street and and little way along Dale Street you come to Preston Street running through to Victoria Street.
The vicinity of these roads are extremely close, might be worth keeping in mind.
