Cuthbert Smailes gone to the USof A

Hi... I am searching my other half's side at the moment ((mainly cos I cant face another session with the dreaded 1911 and rd455's etc :!: :!: :!: and C W Taylor ))

...Anyway I have found his 2xGt grandfather Cuthbert Smailes c 1827 on A......y and he appears on the 1880 census and is a blacksmith in Harmony Morrow Ohio married to Ellen and transcribed with 3 children (( all born Ohio)) and a grandaughter.

I only have premium membership so cannot get a proper look would skp with worldwide membership please take a look for me.... and see what ya find :wink:

If noone sees this or moves it you can always try your local library they should have ancestry library collection and you can get the whole of ancestry.

I'm sure you'll sort your case after all you're a super sleuth solving my cold case! I'm hoping to get to Liverpol tomorrow or Thursday to check that marriage and baptisms!!

Doesn't quite fit in Not Genealogy either, but since they aren't a Liverpool/Lancashire family, then maybe this will be ok.

Sorry Mary... I wasnt sure at first if I could post it at all.. as the Smailes family history does originate from Durham back to.. as far as I can tell 1738. I hope I havent broken any rules. Apologies if I have.
