GIBB family, Liverpool, pre-1914

A memorial in Allerton cemetery names two brothers who fell in WW1: Wlliam and Robert Atkin Gibb. William served with the Liverpool Scottish and died of wounds in April 1918 aged 29. His brother was with the Royal Fusiliers and died aged 36 in August 1918.
Their mother Sarah died in 1914 and is the first name on the memorial. Their father, Alexander Gibb is shown by the War Graves Commission as living in Aberdeen when their Roll was compiled, probably in the early 1920s, but had been a native of Edinburgh.
Is it possible to track the family's Liverpool link pre-WW1?

GIBB, Elizabeth - Dtr - U/m - 24 - 1877 - Scotland.
GIBB, Alexr - Son - U/m - 22 - 1879 - Barman - Scotland.
GIBB, Robert - Son - U/m - 21 - 1880 - Barman - Scotland.
GIBB, Sarah - Dtr - U/m - 18 - 1883 - Barmaid - Scotland.
GIBB, Ann - Dtr - U/m - 16 - 1885 - Barmaid - Scotland.
GIBB, William - Son - 14 - 1887 - Scotland.
GIBB, David - Son - 12 - 1889 - Scotland .
Address: 121 & 123 Dale Street, Liverpool.
RG13 / Piece:3413 / Folio:13 / Page:18

Sounds like a family business in a big pub! Haven't we had someone on the forum looking for information on 121/123 Dale Street? Rings bells for me.

Deaths Dec 1914> GIBB, Sarah - 63 - Liverpool - 8b - 176.
The age here fits with the one in 1901.

That looks exactly right for the family. The pub was on the corner of Johnson Street and belonged to Walker Cain, previously Walker Cain. On the opposite corner was no 113/115, the Excelsior, Sykes, then Higsons. This from my 1909 licensing book which does not give a name for 121/3.
I await the PM with interest.

It looks like perhaps a family split had taken place, from circa 1910-1912, they were living at 3, Egerton Street, Liverpool, we have 59 year old Sarah Gibb, a native of Co Tyrone. No occupation is shown. She recorded that she had been married for 34 years with 7 children, all surviving.

Also there are her 24 year old son William, a Steward (Sea), born Edinburgh, and 28 year old daughter Sara, a Clerk with the L & NW Railway, also born Edinburgh.

The 121/123 Dale Street address is now occupied by the Kilbride family, also licenced victuallers. The records don’t show a name for the address; 117 is an office, 119 a public house, 121/123 also a public house, 125 an office.

Hello Stephen,
A friendly 'nudge'... while appreciating and understanding your well-meaning intention to help with a search etc, you are probably not aware that it is a breach of the terms and conditions of your use of Findmypast or GRU to publish data from look-ups in the 1911 on behalf of a 3rd party. This might be the marriage of the parents in Scotland; the only one anywhere near the right year in England, Wales and Scotland.

The year is clear and the date looks like 21st February:
1876 - GIBB, ALEXANDER to CROOKS, SARAH - ST PETER, DUNDEE CITY/ANGUS [ref 282/01 0047].

no 123 in my Edwardian Directory was called the Old Scotch House Public House.. i guess it makes sense Scots were running it
