Manchester Cathedral 1837 look-up/help?

Post by daggers »

Following the post here a few weeks ago, I am hoping there might be some useful knowledge about 'Manchester Cathedral' marriages.
I am interested in a possible, found on the newer IGI system, for Richard Walker and Winifred Sarah Watkins, on 7 Aug 1837.
There do not seem to be any 1837s on Lancs OPC and wonder if any generous person has access to the records, to see what other details might be in the register, such as address, occupation, parents etc.

Have you tried our "Kissing Cousins" up the Lancs? http://liverpool-genealogy.org.uk/phpBB ... hp?t=11241 I know the Administrator is very helpful and has access to a number of Manchester resources.

I'll try a direct approach down the A580 if nothing appears in a day or two.

I understand Manchester Record Oofice will send a copy from their filmed church registers around £4ish. It could be cheaper than the fare. It might be worth contacting them.

Thanks for that news, Hilary. I didn't know about that service.
