Post by Katie »

Had a reply from the Commission re incorrrectly recorded date of death (see below)

Our Ref: 63488
Date: 07 December 2011

Dear Miss Donaldson

Thank you for your e-mail of 25th October 2011 regarding the date of death for Serjeant J Callon 93816, commemorated in Nairobi South Cemetery.

Before we can consider making an amendment to the Commission's record of Serjeant Callon, we would require you to provide the service record that you had previously mentioned. We will then be able to investigate this matter further.

I hope I can be of further assistance to you once I have received this documentation.

Yours sincerely

I'll get his record printed off to-morrow and get it in the post. At least they are not requesting me to get his death certificate.

Fingers crossed.

It's a great service you are doing for all our fallen heroes.

I just wish some of the people who were destroying memorials, and swinging off them showed half of the respect for them you are showing.

Thank you for caring for the UK's fallen heroes.
