Hi Lemondog :)
Surname Twigg not Twiggs?
Vessel named AGNES
There is a Henry in 1901 census on his barge, married 46 bn Runcorn barge master
daughter Amelia 13 and deckhand Herbert Galloway'.
He's also listed again in 1901 bn London 9 Stone St Runcorn
Hy 46 barge master, Mary Ann 41 bn Llangollen, Ethel, George, Henry,Amelia.
sorry no John.

In the census taken 10yrs after 1901 there is a Charles aged 70 boatman bn Stourbridge Worcs, wife Amelia 69,
bn Bukinfield? Ches. They are at Vine Yard Runcorn.
With both their first names, they have to be related?

My father was Henry Twigg born 1881 or thereabouts. He died in 1959 aged 68 and he and my mother Mary had 11 children but his first child was John. Two of my sisters were named Mary Ann And Amelia. My father also had a brother named George. His three children were named George, Henry andAmelia. My father had a sister called Ethel.
My father worked on the canals from the age of 11 and was born in Runcorn. My three brothers, Henry, George and Thomas also worked on the barges.
My name is Frances.
