World War 2 service records

Post by MaryA »

This website has all the information you need to obtain a copy of the service records for yourself or a member of your family. The £30 fee is waived if you are requesting your own records, or those of your spouse or partner.

You have to send a death certificate (unless the death occurred in service) and if the subject of the request died less than 25 years ago the information provided will be limited, unless the immediate next-of-kin gives consent.

The same procedure and charges apply for any serviceman or woman who served after World War 1.
