Well at least we have an Emma Makin!
Many thanks for all the hard work everyone. It's looking possible that Emma might have gone overseas. Maybe Daisy was visiting her? I'll have to have a search to see if I can find a Thomas Makin but the name isn't ringing any bells at the moment.
Thank you all again

Ermm! That was me!
I found this Thomas Makin in the Canadian 1911 census in Halifax Nova Scotia and just wondered if Emma was going to visit/stay with him! Their census wasn't taken until June so thought it was a possibility.
Clutching at straws I suppose, but it could have been a cousin.
Not sure where Emma's dad was born, just to see if he had a brother called John.
No don't go there, we could be chasing around unnecessarily and confuse things

Just had a look at the Makin branch and although Allen did have a brother called John there's no sign of a Thomas Makin anywhere so I think he's probably a red herring. Confusin reigns!
