Re Nelson Street residents on the 7th of April 1861, Census night...
My feet are killing me.. Just done the walk down Nelson Street and knocked on every door listed. Not a Moore in sight unless they were under the stairs.

Also checked Nelson Dock, Nelson Place [all 4 of them] and Nelson Terrace. No luck.

Always worth checking out the Bluecoat records - there are Admissions and Applications Registers held at the Record Office, they will confirm or otherwise whether this is your little man.

Sorry, it isn't a whalebone corset from the Antiques Road Show. It's a fully refurbished Playtex circa 1955 I got on eBay! So there! :P

Ahem! Nuff said! Maybe we need a 'Banter' forum?
EDIT TO ADD: See you in Off Topic?

We were looking for hair or hide of the Moore family in 1861. Considering they were in Toxteth in February 1861 when Margaret was baptised, and still there in 1863 when Robert was baptised, I would have expected to find them on the 7th of April 1861, census night.

After fruitless searching for parents John and/or Elizabeth, searched for Henry bn 1857 [less likely to get his age wrong], all with every combo from M*r* to *re to M*e, any county but not hits. I suspect the surname has been totally mangled or they are among the 'missing'.
