hi helpful friends . latest in our search for elizabeths final resting place . I have the death cert , witnessed by her brother michael ,(who is no longer with us ) she died 29 /12 /1977 and was living at 29 rathbone rd ,liverpool 15 . which is wavertree . she was married from chestnut grove ,wavertree ,at OUR LADY OF GOOD HELP church , can anybody get burial or service records for this church as I think there is a chance she may have at least had a service here ?other info is the hospital sefton general ,liverpool. all help gratefully accepted. lemondog

Thanks for the update and the information that the 1977 death was Elizabeth. Sad she died so young at only 38. Our graveyard experts will be along soon to help find her final resting place. Do you know what religion she was from her marriage cert?

the church is RC so I take it she was ,james nyland was RC , lemondog

I did try ford cemetery before I had the death date so may try again.

I think I'd try Allerton Cemetery - it's huge but has a RC section.

On the Ford site I posted Paddy Greengrass will search the indexed database of burials and come back to if he finds anything. After that it's up to you what you want to pay for.. £2 for info on a public grave and £5 for a private grave. And if there is a headstone he will photograph it for you for £10.

Hi Lemondog, off topic, I'm a Wavertree lass.
Rathbone Road was quite posh!!
My Mum moved to Chestnut Grove when she was about 10, 1923.
She had a Saturday job riding a push bike, delivering veggies to the big houses.
In the war she was a clippie, her driver Harry Harrison, she went to George's baptism at
Our Lady's in 1943. Sickly baby she told me....

As it is quite a recent burial the likelihood is that those records won't be available online. Either a search of the local cemeteries will be needed at the Record Office, possibly including Springfield Crematorium as you believe it would have been an RC burial/cremation or alternatively contacting Liverpool Cemeteries Office with the exact date will give you a result, although they often charge.

Your best recourse is to check for an obituary in the Liverpool Echo which will probably give a note of the cemeteery, copies again available at the Record Office

hi .thanks for the info mary A. I`ll give the cemetery office a ring , I have the number for ford office and will try them too .
Tina . as elizabeths father was in insurance it may have been quite well paid and they could afford a posh house 48 chestnut grove , then 29 rathbone rd.
can`t get the electrol roll to see if her father / mother were still here when she died . father william died 1979 ,mother lived till in her 90`s if I remember correctly 2006.

It's pay per view but not too expensive.

not tried 192 yet but need E.Roll for 1976-1977 for her father , as he died 1979. thanks .

hi folks . I`v just checked ford ,yew tree,& ainsdale cemeteries and she is not at any of these , nice people at the catholic records office . only hope now is records at liverpool library , unless anone can think of anything else.

Despite the fact that Elizabeth married in an RC church she may not have been RC herself and you should check for cremations as well as burials. Re the latter, it would be worthwhile checking for her father's burial. She could be in the same grave.

eureka ! folk dropped into the records office and checked the echo obituaries .found her ! ELIZABETH NYLAND springwood crematorium 4th jan 1978 died 27 dec. allerton lodge are checking if there is a memorial next couple of days unless anyone can do it quicker . thanks for all your help and suggestions in this search .lemondog
