I am researching another Liverpool WW1 soldier - Ernest Creegan. My problem is that I can't find him or his family on the 1911 Census, despite trying various spellings of the surname.
Here is what I have so far:
Ernest Creegan, b.1891 in Liverpool (birth registered Q3. 1891)
1901 Census: the family were living at 37. Hankin Street, Liverpool
Parents: Andrew Creegan (b.abt.1851 in Liverpool) & Ann (born abt.1861 in Yorkshire)
Siblings:
Martha b.abt.1884
Edith b.abt.1885
Elizabeth b.abt.1886
Andrew b.abt.1894
Ernest's father was a licensed victualler.
Ernest enlisted into the 9th King's Liverpool Regiment at the Everton Road Drill Hall on 16/09/13.
He went to France with his battalion in March, 1915 but was discharged from the army in July of that year due to ill-health.
He married Elsie Murphy on 4th August, 1917 at St. Margaret, Walton-on-the-Hill, giving his occupation as 'plumber'. His father, Andrew was deceased by this time.
Ernest died at the Borough Hospital, Bootle on and was buried in Ford Cemetery on 6th May, 1919, aged 27.
If anyone can find him on the 1911 Census, or add anything to the above I would be very grateful.
Thanks,
Ken

Re: Creegan on 1911 Census?
Per Gore's they were at 7 Venmore Street, Everton in 1911. I was able to find them on FMP from that address, transcribed as Creeyan.

It is absolutely dreadful writing, but if you do want to find it on Ancestry the reference is RG14; Piece: 22505 and you will find it transcribed as Gragan - Ernest born 1892.
