Just been checking that link to the tin Bert, thinking of buying a repro contents kit, (xmas card, photo, cigs & tobacco), for it off e-bay. Yes that marriage has to be correct just got issues with Mary Janes d.o.b. now & her maiden name plus still can't find them on the 1910 census.

Lee,

The 1901 census she is 10, her wedding in 1910, she is 20, so it points to her being born 1890 in Liverpool.

Mary Jane Howarth, March qtr, 1890, Liverpool, 8b 41.

To add,

the 1891 census she is 1 year old, she's been transcribed as Jessie J but there is no doubting its Mary J.

On http://www.familysearch.org there is a possible baptism for Mary Jane at St Matthew Liverpool parents Thomas and Margaret

Mary Jane born 27 jan 1889 christened 16 feb 1890

Also these baptisms
William James born 10 June 1886 and christened 1 August 1886
Ellen born 19 feb 1888 and christened 11 March 1888

I can't see birth registrations for the above yet.

This could be a possible marriage for Thomas

http://www.lancashirebmd.org.uk Thomas Howarth married Margaret Mickel in 1884 at St Mary's Kirkdale

http://www.familysearch.org gives Thomas Howarth aged 22 father John Howarth married Margaret Mickel aged 18 father John Mickel. Marriage date 21 August 1884 at St Mary Kirkdale

You can't always believe family stories - my aunt told me we came from Italy, settled in Shropshire and were cabinet makers.

Total rubbish not a cabinet maker to be seen, noone's ever lived in Shropshire and we're in the Ormskirk area in the 16th century and earlier!!!!!!!!

Maybe your aunt was told that but it doesn't have to be true!

Thanks Mary, hopefully my head will clear up a bit today & I can stop getting frustrated with it all. From going back over everthing I'm definitely beginning to think Mary Jane's surname was Howorth and that most of the other facts that have been found about her family are right, just need to get to the bottom of Peter Murray's side now which seems to be causing a few problems.

Giving some thought to Mrs Murray boarding with the Howorths 1911 census.

Pertaining to this sketch, the most likely Mrs Murray's to be associated with the Howorth's are Peter's wife or mother, at 39 its unlikely to be Peter's wife and she would have been recorded as daughter hopefully with first name. If it is the mother, 39 and married, it gives her a birth date of 1872 ish, to young to have had Peter in 1883 but old enough by 1889. I wonder if Auntie had her 16 year old getting married mixed up?

Now there's a thought Bert! I'm just about to go out but when I get back I will look at the info I have so far & see if that is a possibility.
Thanks

Not done anything on this for over a week for one reason or another but spoke to another cousin tonight who confirmed that the family we have for my Nin,(Mary Jane Howarth/Howorth/Howard), is definitely the right one as she remembers a few of the other family members names plus she asked me if I'd come across the name Mickel which somebody on here had found out could have been her Mother's maiden name, she also confirmed my Grandad's d.o.b. as June 1883,(although she reckons it was the 24th but everything's pointing to the 28th), and that tallies with a few details I have found out. She is going to have a dig around up in Liverpool and see what else she can come up with from other family members, meanwhile I'm still waiting for my dad's birth certificate to arrive so I'm in a bit of limbo although I'm going to have another little search now.

Guys how do a look census details up for a certain address?, I've noticed that some of you have been able to give me addresses for possible relations from some census forms but I've not found any that were living at 48 Prince Edwin Lane around 1900 - 1910, if I did then it would surely confirm my Grandad's parents names.

Not sure about Ancestry but someone here will confirm how to do an Address Look-up there. My site gave a Ryan family at 48 Prince Edwin Lane 1901 and an Abraham family ten years later.

Thanks for that, there was a Prince Edwin Street & Lane right next to each other and it is the Lane I'm trying to find, been searching for ages but not coming up with anything.

Slip of the typing finger! I meant to type Prince Edwin Lane! Post since amended to read correctly.
