Can you please tell me if this is an ordinary hospital or has a specific purpose.
I am looking at two sisters Mary & Marion Carruthers who were both patients there on the 1911 Census. One aged 4 and one aged 8. Is it a coincidence that they were both ill at the same time? Or can I find out somehow what was wrong with them. I don't think it was a workhouse as other Siblings were not in the hospital. Can you help with any info please.
The census does state the relationship to be "Patient", not "Inmate" as it would if they were in a workhouse.
If this was a temporary stay in hospital the records may not be so easily accessed, if they survive in an orderly manner, however you could certainly try through the NHS, although there will probably be a charge for them. It is possible that the records would be released only to a direct descendant so be prepared to have your proof of relationship ready.

Hi Maggs, welcome aboard.
I think it was a fever hospital from old family memories.
I'll check out the address in 1911 and get back to you.
