Re: C Allen - more than one option, need more investigation
confusing details for the mother of this soldier:
baptism:
Name: Charles Edmund Allan
Gender: Male
Baptism Date: 21 Sep 1895
Baptism Place: St. Luke, Tranmere, Cheshire, England
Father: Joseph Bolton Allan
Mother: Frances Gertrude
FHL Film Number: 1647518
1901 census parents Joseph Bolton Allen, Frances G.B. Allen ... Charles Edmund B Allen - could the surname be Bolton-Allen?
following census - Joseph Bolton Allen, spouse Jennie Allen. Claim to have been married for 17 years.
Eliza Carroll was named in his service papers as his mother in 1913. Possibly his grandmother? The form completed by his landlady shows that his mother had passed away but his father's address was unknown.
