It was announced on 4th May 2017 that the above Family History Event will cease after 10 years.

This is very disappointing news, as we had signed up to Exhibit in 2018. Our Society have been represented at this Event for 10 years, and I have seen the fall in Family History Societies attending, mainly because of the price that was charged to Exhibit. I spoke to a show organiser when they made the decision to move to the NEC, Birmingham, "can you make it more beneficial fr Family History Societies to attend." as in my opinion, No Societies, no WDTYA LIVE. They come to see the Society that covers their area of interest etc etc. I have seen it go from being a Family History Event to a Commercial event. Selling Wooden chalets, coats, vibrating chairs. I do hope that an alternative event can be arranged with FFHS and the SOGS. We have had many long term members join over the 10 years that we attended.

It will be a great shame but I hope that perhaps more local events will also be supported, won't be the same of course as those living at a distance wouldn't travel so far for smaller events.
